Race results

We’re almost all out on Throwback Thursday’s so enjoy these look backs while they last! Tonight’s episode takes us to a mid week special featuring not one, not two, but three PBs, a category win, and of course a thank you to the hosts, Huncote Harriers for this five mile favourite on the fixture list. ๐Ÿ’›

The Joy Cann 5 is one of six races that featured on the 2022/23 Leicestershire Road Running League roster. Paul Woods led the charge for the blue team ๐ŸŽฝ, positioning himself nicely into the top ๐Ÿ’ฏ of this highly competitive field. The Ivanhoe team are ranked in division two this season, with Hinckley, Wreake, and Barrow, amongst others, for company. His time of 32:17 earnt him a silver standard for his growing collection.

First back for the females, also lining up in division two and accompanied by Desford, Stilton and Hermitage to name a few, was our Amelia Monaghan, and also the first personal best we come to mention. Our sterling secretary ran 37:59, taking 11 seconds off her Run in the Forest time from earlier this year. โœŒ๐Ÿผ

Our other two high scores came from Chris Osborne and James Ogilvie. Chris didn’t hang about on this one, his new shiny time of 36:16 took just over a minute from his new best time at this very same race last year. Ogilvie is another out chasing standards this season, and it was that of the silver colour he sought. Bringing it home in 37:04 did the job perfectly, earning a new PB taking 7 seconds also off his 2021 Joy Cann time. ๐ŸŒŸ

Our strong ladies team came through the finish one by one to complete our set of nine participants. Laura Graves was our chart topper, flying high at the peak of her age group with her time of 40:20 and an impressive gold standard. Suzy Parish finished in 72nd place in 40:30 and Carolyn Osborne also made the top ๐Ÿ’ฏ with her time of 41:58. Lindsay Tilbury made the Wednesday night fixture her 11th race of 2022 finishing the run in 43 minutes and 26 seconds, and our ever present at the LRRL races, forever doing us proud was the fabulous Julie Henfrey, crossing the line after 1 hour and 8 minutes. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
