A throwback now to the July Brooksie’s Bash, Peak Running in the spotlight yet again as their events prove a popular way for our runners to enjoy local trails, this time kicking off proceedings at Ticknall for a 10 mile circular route many like to take on as training in all seasons.

Ramzi Sidani had a great run at this one, taking the Ivanhoe course record with 1:07:46 and 8th place. He was followed in by James Cox 1:12:59, Richard Martin 1:15:37, Louis Barnes 1:18:04, and Phil Stevenson who made his racing return running 1:19:18, his first event since cross-country in 2019, welcome back Phil. Nick Rowles was next in 1:21:51, Mark Hoult in 1:25:32 and Becky Moult in 1:29:48.

Cath Watkins was next over the line in 1:32:41 with Suzy Parish in hot pursuit in 1:32:43, social secretary Vic Smith followed in 1:32:54, Chris Osborne 1:34:14, Laura Graves 1:34:17, and Sophie Turner and Pat Horn running together in 1:34:25. Mindy Ashton ran well in 1:35:03, Andy Cole ran 1:36:23 and Geoff Brown wasn’t far behind in 1:36:40.

Paul Averillo ran a satisfying 1:46:46, Donna Hodges ran her first ever race as an official Ivanhoe member in 1:46:48, and completing our fabulous turnout we had Lisa Hall 1:49, Sarah Malone 1:49:10, Simon Hall 1:49:18 and Jeff Cross 2:26:28.

This year saw a shorter 5K option on the menu which Ian Bolton tried his hand (legs) at and was first over the line completing the 3.1 miles in 22:33.

Keeping in the Derbyshire county, but switching to the roads, more recently we had runners at the Wilne 10K, a toasty morning for racing hard, nonetheless our team did us proud, the females shining really bright as Deirdre Cole ran her furthest ever event; a debut 10K on the board in 1:05:18, and ladies captain Gemma Shaw set an Ivanhoe course record in a superb 53:29. They were joined by men’s captain Louis Barnes 44:08, Pat Horn 45:19, Andy Cole 46:28 and Andrew Stanley who supported Gemma round the course.
