Swithland 6 hosted by Birstall was another popular success, the team even managing to ward off the sun for preferred running conditions until near the end of the event.

A big 30 of you were repping at this one, and at the top of the pops was Mark Parker who set a club course record for 24th overall in a time of 34:06. A mighty 16 of our squad showcased their training advances and took fine control of their race efforts coming home with new personal best times.

Give it up for Ramzi Sidani (2 second improvement and a diamond standard time), James Cox (4:19 improvement!), Paul Woods (15s), Patrick Horn (2:16), Damon Bland (30s), Suzy Parish (3:48!), Mindy Ashton (44s), Victoria Smith (24s), Lindsay Tilbury (2:28 off the back of surgery!), Alex Gillon (2:16), Sophie Turner (14:26!!!), Nancy Bennion (2:34), captain Gemma Shaw (3:42!), Sue Tait (2:29), Judy Mouncer (1:45) and Jane Bland (4:29!)

Sue Tait’s fabulous time also entered put her name on the club record leaderboard for the third time this season, as did Laura Graves time of 45:36 that saw her top the chart in her age category on the day as well as it being a diamond standard time.

Two newcomers came along to put a 6 mile time on their scorecard, Tom Ball in 43:34 and Phil Cooling in 51:32, and it was a debut distance for Jill Singleton too in 53:19.

Packing out the rest of the field, Matt Pleass finished in 40:43, it was a course best for Emily Partridge in 42:49, Mark Bradford was next in 42:55, Becky Moult kept up her LRRL fight in 42:54, Matt Joyce completed the run in 43:41, Andrew Bottrill in 44:34, Andy Cole crossed the line in 47:58, Paul Averillo shot along the downhill for 52:46 and LRRL ever-present Julie Henfrey as was back in 1:23:04.

After 5 of 9 races, Ivanhoe men are top of division 3, ladies are 4th in div. 2, vet men 2nd in div. 2, vet ladies 2nd in div. 2, and the mixed team are 4th in div. 2. Featuring on the individual category leaderboards; Becky is 7th, Laura is 4th, James is 4th and Andy Jeyes is 4th. All to play for, with your Prestwold update to come shortly.
