06/02/2022 - parkrunday!

Shall we have a parkrunday recap? ๐ŸŒณ

41 Ivanhoes were out on the trails at @conkersparkrun this week. Emily Wideman stormed home to secure the first female placing, well done Emily. The challenge sure got some people fired up, with Kim Harris completing her first parkrun since 2018, kudos to you Kim!

A huge thank you goes out to all the volunteers on the day, with a shout to our very own Pippa David who stepped into the high vis this week. ๐Ÿงก

Touring locally, Shaun Coulton took on the two lap course of Markeaton for the first time, who snuck into the top 10 with a time of 19:20. Mark Parker and Emily Partridge were at Forest Rec for the hilly course in Nottingham, with a changed route since the last time they were there.

Staying within the county checking out Leicester Victoria parkrun for the first time was Mark, Jane, Paul, and Damon, who is only three parkruns away from his next big milestone, keep your eyes peeled for that one coming up. ๐Ÿ‘€

Tourists Kevin and Judith were at Salcey Forest parkrun. As well as being the fourth female home, Judith’s performance scored her 3rd place on her age-group leaderboard, a fabulous effort. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Further afield, the Bebbingtons were in action at Sheringham parkrun. Richard tagged on extra six miles to support his marathon training campaign, and we were delighted to see Ange back at parkrun after nine months off. She had some wise words for other runners currently hampered by injury: “It’s never easy starting from scratch again (and again), but don’t give up. Enjoying tiny bits of progress right now, and no matter how small, I’m happy to take them.” We’re so proud of you Ange! ๐Ÿคฉ

Finally, we venture to the coast, where the lovely Helen Brandon was checking out the delights of Cleethorpes parkrun. This was the fourth time Helen has visited this run, the first time being their inaugural event, and it’s now racked up 323 5K jaunts, and this Saturday she made it her inaugural parkrun of 2022. Well done to you Helen. ๐Ÿค—

We can’t wait to see where you go next week, and don’t forget to get those position predictions submitted for the Captain’s Challenge!
