20/10/2019 - Adrian Smith 10k

The Adrian Smith Memorial 10k is an inter-club handicap race, a charity run held every year in memory of one of Ivanhoe runners founder members. This years event was held on the Enstone Trail in Moira, over a distance of 10k, with a social event and presentation at the YHA afterwards.

Runners start at staggered times reflecting their seasons best times, so it is a real battle to get over the finish line first. This was achieved by Jane Bland, winning the trophy on her birthday, clocking 59:03, putting in exceptional effort to achieve a new personal best time by 5 minutes 28 seconds. Paul Averillo came in second, stopping the clock at 52:24 with a 4:45 minute PB, also showing the benefits of good steady progress over the summer season.

In third place Chris Palmer clocked 49:23, then Robert Slack 54:08 in fourth and Kelly Finney 58:57 in fifth. 35 runners in total ran the course, raising an impressive £235 for the British Heart Foundation.
