Race results


It was another busy weekend for Ivanhoe Runners with members taking place in several very different races, starting with The Wolf Run in Warwickshire on Saturday 26th April. Amanda Bradbury and Teresa Talbott bravely took on this challenging 10k set over a tough obstacle course including monkey bars, a 50m swim and lots of mud! The pair were certainly dressed the part competing in impressive Wolf costumes and completed the challenge in style despite Amanda forgetting to pack her running shoes! Closer to home saw the first round of the Burton and District Summer League, the Run in the Forest 5 mile race set at Conkers. Ivanhoe Runnners had the biggest team on the day and there were some excellent performances despite many tired legs following Spring Marathons. First home for the club with an excellent run finishing in 11th place was Ramzi Sidani (30:10). Next was new member Gerard Eivors storming home to finish 20th overall (32:10) just ahead of Alistair Chambers who came 25th overall and 1st vet 50 in 33:05 closely followed by Kev Wright who was also 1st in his age group in 34:00 (28th overall). Next came the Ivanhoe engine room with excellent team packing seeing Andrew Jeyes (39th and 1st Vet65, 35:09), Tim Caukwell (40th in 35:26), James Cox (41st in 35:28), Andy Lindley (42nd in 35:35) and Nick Rowles (43rd in 35:37) finish together. Jason Green was next with a fantastic run despite his recent marathon, 62nd in 38:55 and a new personal best time. Duncan Ross was next with a strong run, 70th in 39:22 just ahead of Chairman Kev Sanders, 75th in 39:31. Next came Ivanhoe’s first female finisher Victoria Smith, continuing her excellent season and setting a new personal best time of 40:00 (23rd lady, 83th overall). Rebecca Wilkinson also had a great run to finish next lady in 40:49 (27th lady, 90th overall) just edging out Karl Savill who ran very close to his personal best finishing 91st in 41:01. Captain Laura Graves was next finding it tough after her excellent London Marathon 2 weeks ago but still winning her age group finishing 29th lady (93rd overall in 41:04). Ruth Green was next, 30th lady (95th overall) in 41:25 ahead of Jackie Williams, 34th lady (102nd overall) in 42:48. Judith Webster-Sanders made a very welcome return to league racing following a long period away after injury, finishing 1st Vet 55 (43rd lady and 113th overall) in 44:06. Seran Bradley was next also running well despite recent injury, 53rd lady (124th overall) in 47:02 just ahead of Sally Jeyes, 58th lady (129th overall) in 47:15. Julie Henfrey was paced around the route by club mate Nick Teige who had completed a tough cycling sportive the day before and finished very strongly in 58:35 (73rd lady and 149th overall) ahead of Nick who rounded off the team in 150th place (58:36). Over the Channel in France Ian Watson ran the Clochers du Razes, Mazerolles du Razes 12.7km and finished 4th in age group in 59:25 over this unusual distance rounding off another excellent weekend for the club.
