Getting one of your five a day is super important, especially for us runners wanting to stay healthy to keep doing what we love. Well if you’d have been at the Stafford 10K, you may have noticed four perfectly ripe bananas out on course, spreading the smiles and raising funds for A Child of Mine, supporting bereaved parents. It sure got toasty in those banana suits and Fiona Betts and friends even ran with buckets to collect coins to support their fundraising efforts. They set a target of £1,000 and aren’t too far away, so if you’ve like to contribute and show some love to our favourite fancy-dress wearer head to her page to grab the link.

The Robin Hood Half marathon always boasts a great medal and eight Ivanhoe’s were up for the 13.1 miles to get their hands on one. First back was second claimer Tom Potter an astounding 1:17:46 for 17th place. Patrick Horn was next, quite a fan of this event completing it for the sixth time, in 1:42:41. Chris Osborne was next in, racking up the miles towards Chester marathon, and was over the finish in 1:44:44.

Lindsay Tilbury continued her PB streak in 1:50:33 knocking more than five minutes off a time that has stood since 2015 at the same race. Bec Sharpe had a fabulous run, and ran her first half marathon event since the Turkey Trot in 2013, running a bronze standard time of 1:53:10.

Another runner notching up the improvements this year is Sophie Turner, more than 7 minutes destroyed for her previous best that was only earlier this year at Bosworth. Her new high score stands at 1:52:35. Sue Tait was next also on the PB bus, and took 43 seconds off her 2019 Liverpool Rock n Roll half as part of the UK club trip that year. Phil Cooling took to the Nottingham streets and put a fabulous first half marathon effort down, his time of 2:24 sure is a great way to start. Well done Phil.

New member Issy Mummery took part in the Forest Runner 10K and Sherwood Pines, with a Robins contingent in tow. She was very proud of her son, who completed his first ever race, and as for Issy, despite claiming she wasn’t prepared for the hills, rocked it round the trails to a superb 1 minute 8 second personal best.
