The Belvoir (pronounced Beaver, and not Bell-vw-are), Challenge boasts two distance options for runners to tackle, and if the muddy fun wasn’t tempting enough, there’s plenty a cake stop on route to keep you well fueled.

In the 15 miler, Rupert May was first back for Ivanhoe and a stonking 6th place overall and broke through an impressive two hours with 1:58:52. Chairman Nick Rowles was next in 2:27:38 for 57th place, and Geoff Brown wasn’t too far from him in 2:34:37 earning 72nd place.

Team spirit was in full flow, and lots of our runners joined up throughout the course to encourage each other along. Lindsay Tilbury and Emily Wideman worked hard with epic team spirit finishing 26th and 27th females in 2:38, with Paul Averillo likely having them in his sights for a lot of the run finishing in 2:41:22. Sandra Lawless was our next superstar completed the event in 2:52:38, and Suzy Parish and Cath Watkins were our next duo over the line, 2:53 their time on the clock, with the pairing of Clare Wood and Nancy Bennion coming through in 2:55.

Ruth Green and Allie Sturla did a sterling job crossing the finish in 4:24, and Sarah Malone walked the course with Craig meaning no only did she had more time for the checkpoints but also the amazing views.

We had six runners giving the 26 mile route a blast, and it was Ramzi Sidani first back and his time of 3:25:09 which now sits pretty as the club course record. 4th was his placing, with 5th place being awarded so Paul Woods so close behind in 3:26:41. Mark Harriot could be seen in yellow and tucking in for the team photo, and had a great run finishing 38th in a time of 4:17.

Our next three are no strangers to tackling off road events, and it was James Ogilvie next back in 4:42:30. He took on the 15 miler last year and made an impressive debut (we believe; and at least as an Ivanhoe member!) over the longer course. Two stalwarts of these amazing feats made another dream team and two names you were perhaps waiting for; Tim Sturla and Ian Kirk came through in 5:27.
