05/11/2022 - A 10K assortment.

We’ve got a whole bunch of 10Ks to bring to you next, starting with the Stilton Stumble 10K, held in Cropwell Bishop and rewarding runners with a decent chunk of stilton on completing the race. Richard Martin had a solid run, finishing in 40:04, 10th overall and second in his age category.

Terri Eydman chose Sherwood Pines as the location for her first ever 10K, the ‘Forest Runner’ event also offering a 5K distance. Terri’s debut put a fabulous time of 1:16 on the board, which she followed up only a week later with a new personal best by 2 minutes 45 at the Leicester 10K. She was joined by Matt Joyce, also joining Terri on the PB podium. An improvement of 1 minute 14 helped him achieve a time of 44:41 bettering his previous time from Burton in 2015.

Three runners had a crack at the Tamworth 10K. Patrick Horn ran a great time, not that long after he set a new best time at the Brewers event, finishing the race in 42:46. Exactly 5 minutes later, Paul Averillo came charging through, an epic improvement of 3 minutes 10 for him, despite starting at a slightly steadier pace. Victoria Smith made our Ivanhoe entrants a trio, and finished in a super time of 48:37 and first in her age category.

It was smiles all round for Faye Burrows at the Chester Zoo 10K. A PB getting on for two minutes worth greeted her over the line, but with her eyes on achieving a standard, and one more distance required, she was back in action at the Nottingham MoRun, another 47 seconds chipped off, securing that amazing achievement in a time of 1:08:01.
