15/04/2022 - parkrunday!

There is so much to tell you about last weekend, but as usual we’ll start with 9am Saturday.

23 Ivanhoes rocked up to tick off another Conkers parkrun, lead out by Karl Wideman, home in a superb 20:04. Georgie Smith led out the girls finishing in a time of 25:12 off the back of her new PB last weekend. Karl, along with Phil Stevenson and Suzy Parish all did a fabulous job of heading up their age groups. We extend a big thanks to Pippa who was on car park marshal duties, and Mark Bradford and Chris Osborne who supported with pre-event setup.

Out on tour, and in no particular order, Tom Potter placed second at Black Park parkrun after a strong progressive run out. Emily Partridge and Mark Parker ticked Rotherham parkrun off their list and enjoyed breakfast at Walker Café afterwards. Geoff Brown visited Blickling parkrun for the first time, on a National Trust site and is described as having breath-taking views.

Down by the coast, ready and raring to go for both running and supporting at Brighton marathon, a spritely team of six completed East Brighton parkrun taking place in, you guessed, it, East Brighton park, a stones throw from Brighton marina. Well done to Laura and Pete Graves, Mindy and Ken Ashton and Heather and Michael Swan.

At Ancholme Valley parkrun, a new event to the family, Kev Sanders and Judith Webster-Sanders added another run to their growing portfolio. Judith recorded the highest age grade on the day in a fabulous 26:50. Bob White completed his second run at Belvoir Castle parkrun, and Sally and Andy Jeyes visited East Park parkrun in Wolverhampton for their first run there.

On Sunday morning at Swadlincote junior parkrun, a big thanks goes out to Gav Moore and Chris Osborne who both donned the marshal visit to support the youngsters round the 2km route.
