Race results

The Asics Manchester Marathon was once again a popular event with the Ashby club, described as one of the flattest Marathons in the country it is ideal for Pb chasers and first timers alike. Two runners clocked under 3 hours, despite illness earlier in the week Ramzi Sidani pushed through to score a swift 2:58:13. Richard Martin also clocked an impressive 2:59:01, despite weather hampering his training, securing a new personal best by 36 seconds. Alistair Burgwin was next for Ivanhoe with 3:22:17, followed by Patrick Horn in his debut marathon, justifiably pleased with his time of 3:36:13.

Ruth Enion was first Ivanhoe lady back with a great comeback time of 3:44:41, followed by Fiona Betts running her first marathon for 18 years with an outstanding 3:47:14.

Richard Bebbington clocked 3:53:15, and Andrew Jones 3:54:29 both having great runs to achieve sub 4 hours.

After months of hard training Helen Brandon ran her debut Marathon raising money for Alzheimer's society giving her a well earned time of 5:27:51. Finally Matt Pleass came in at 5:30:44 after battling through the last few miles.

Mukesh Deva ran his debut marathon in Paris. Unfortunately heat and leg cramps got the better of him, so he was disappointed with 5:05:38, but Mukesh enjoyed the experience and is hoping to beat it next time.
