Craig Hinds led a strong Ivanhoe team in the Leicestershire Road Running league race, the Desford 5 this weekend. For once good weather conditions meant a great race with several runners achieving new personal best times. Craig's time of 30:34 secured an excellent 36th finish position. This was followed up by Louis Barnes in 32:57 achieving 89th place. Next over the line Andrew Stanley clocks 33:38, and Karl Smith clocks 34:33, both men smashing their PB's. Mark Bradford succeeds in 35:21, and super veteran Andy Jeyes flew round in 36:32, 10 seconds ahead of first lady back for the club, Fiona Betts in her debut 5 miler with 36:42.

Mukesh Deva had another good run clocking 38:36, then Chris Finney with 39:05. Emily Partridge made a great effort to break the fourty minute barrier with a time of 39:54. Carolyn Osbourne crossed the line in 40:52, then Helen Finn in 43:41, and Gemma Shaw in 44:14. Sally Jeyes makes a welcome return to racing with a respectable 46:18, while Kelly Finney and Mandy Morris finish easily in under 50 minutes with 47:46 and 48:10.

Sam Toon crossed the line in 50:01, then Jessica Southwart in 50:56, a new PB. Kim Harris followed in 53:18 also with a new PB, and completing the team Julie Henfrey had a great run clocking 59:11.

Some runners opted for 20 mile races this weekend as part of their marathon training, with 3 going for the Inaugural Oundle 20 in Northamptonshire. Nick Rowles finished first for Ivanhoe in an impressive 16th place in a time of 2:23:46, a new Personal Best. Damon Bland Clocked 2:50:25, and Victoria Smith 2:53:25, another PB, all promising runs ready for Marathon season.

Peter and Judy Mouncer chose the Wymondham 20 in Norfolk. The furthest distance so far for both, with fantastic outcomes, Peter finished in 2:56:45, and Judy in 3:25:50.

In last weeks Derby Midweek 5k two Ivanhoe runners raced the distance, Richard Martin attaining 18.27 and Mark Bradford in 21:04.
