26/01/2018 - Gt Barrow, Huncote Hash, Wym 10k

Ivanhoe Runners celebrated the end of 2017 with a variety of races. Toughest of these was the challenge Ian Kirk took on, the Great Barrow Christmas Triple with three marathons in three days, all affected by the weather. The first was a mixed raid and trail marathon but the icy conditions meant a 4.48 clocking was very respectable. The second marathon was on Suffolk country lanes affected by flooding and Ian clocked 4.19' while the final race was all on road and Ian clocked 4.09 despite high winds and flooding - a busy close to his year!

Several Ivanhoe Runners did the Huncote Hash, with several in fancy dress. First home was youngster Ellie Armstrong clocking 48.49 to finish second female. Men's captain Nick Rowles was next in 48.37, followed by Andy Lindley 54.04 and Chris Osborne 57.02. Teresa Talbott, Carolyn Osborne and Victoria Smith ran together in fancy dress and clocked 1.12.36, while Helen Finn clocked 1.16.11.

In Norfolk, Amy Derbyshire did the Wymondham New Years Day 10k in 55.08.

With the opportunity to clock up five parkruns over the festive period, New Years Day saw several Ivanhoe Runners doing the double, with over a dozen completing the Conkers / Rosliston double, and a squad of five doing the Sheringham / Blickling double in Norfolk.
