10/12/2017 - Royal Parks 10k, snowy training

With the snow causing the cancellation of the Derby Runner cross-country race at Bradgate Park and the Keyworth Turkey Trot, both popular events with Ivanhoe Runners, the sole club racer last weekend was Andy Jones, who ran a swift 41.23 in the Royal Parks 10k. This was the second of a three -race series held in Regents Park.

With road conditions abysmal, two separate training groups set out on foot on Sunday to make the most of the race cancellations. The Ashby group set off from the Royal Hotel on a snowy off-road run, while a group left Melbourne Hall for an 8 mile run around Calke Park and Staunton Harold.
