Race results

It was very much a marathon weekend for Ivanhoe Runners with seven members doing the full distance in four different races.

Four Ivanhoe Runners did the York Marathon, with one debut and two personal bests to celebrate. First home were husband and wife Karl and Emily Wideman, both setting news personal bests, Karl with a time of 3.35.31 and Emily with 3.42.02. Next home was Chris Osborne in his first marathon, in an excellent 3.52.50, ahead of Becca Hobbs also under four hours with 3.55.13.

Also running his first marathon was Jez Millington-Pipe, who clocked an impressive 4.49.40. Further afield, Club Chairman Heather Swan embarked on another of the marathon majors in Chicago just two weeks after the last one, the Berlin Marathon. In very warm conditions, Heather ran well to clock 4.42.02.

Ian Kirk seems to do a marathon a week, and this week it was the very scenic Bassetlaw Bash Marathon on trails around the Dukeries and Sherwood Forest, organised by the Long Distance Walkers Association. Ian finished in 4 hours 30 minutes.
