24/09/2017 - Berlin, Hull, Loch Ness M, Eq 24

Race results

Whilst locally there was the Nottingham marathon, over in Berlin were Club Chairman Heather Swan and racing machine Andy Lindley. Off somewhat haphazard training Heather was "over the moon" to clock 4.24.46. Andy was also very pleased, his 3.19.36 being his second fastest ever marathon and impressively run with a negative split - i.e. he speeded up as the race progressed.

Continuing the marathon theme, Ramzi Sidani finished an impressive 23rd in the Hull marathon with a clocking of 3.03.23, while Karen Hartland ran the Baxters Loch Ness marathon and had a "monster" run, clocking 4.05.33 after a very swift first half.

Not finding the marathon far enough, Ivanhoe's Louis Barnes ran the Equinox 24 event as a solo runner, meaning he had to run as many 10k laps in 24 hours - including through the night - as possible. On a cross-country course around Belvoir Castle, Louis ran an astonishing 12 laps or approximately 47 miles in the 24 hours!
