This weekend saw Ivanhoe Runners battle with a league fixture clash as there were races in both the Leicestershire Road running League and the Burton and District Summer league on the same day. Eleven club members took on the hilly Gaddesby 7 with Mark Bradford leading the team home in 48.59 in 91st place. Hot on his heels and having a great run to finish first vet45 was Clare Fowell clocking 50.17 to finish 8th lady overall. Tim Moore set a massive seven mile personal best as he clocked 54.53 in 208th place, just ahead of Chris Finney 214th in 55.01.

Ladies Captain Victoria Smith ran despite being under the weather, and clocked 57.18, running with team-mate Laura Graves clocking the same time. Lucy Arkinstall was next home in 1 hour exactly, followed by Pete Graves in 1.00.51. Maureen Danvers ran her first ever seven mile race and clocked a swift 1.16.14, followed by Helen Brandon in 1.24.07 and Julie Henfrey 1.26.59.

In the Burton 10 miler, the latest race in the BDSL, twenty Ivanhoe Runners took part in the two-lap race taking in the Washlands and Stapenhill, with nine of those setting new personal bests for the distance.

Ramzi Sidani had a storming run as he notched up a new personal best, clocking 1.00.55 in 13th place. Craig Hinds ran his fastest 10 miles in an Ivanhoe vest as he clocked 1.02.29 in 20th place, ahead of Matt Pleass running 1.04.10 in 24th place. Gez Eivors was another setting a new personal best, clocking 1.07.23 in 43rd place, ahead of yet another personal best for Mark Parker, 1.07.38 in 47th place.

Continuing the run of personal bests, Louis Barnes knocked over a minute and a half off his previous best as he clocked 1.08.24 in 52nd place, and Patrick Horn knocked 20 plus seconds off his previous best as he was timed at 1.13.40. Andy Lindley and Karen Bell ran together, finishing 121st and 122nd in 1.08.38 and 1.08.39 respectively. Andrea Trickett was next home in 1.21.07, followed by Damon Bland 1.23.12. Two ore team-mates finishing together were Karen Hartland and Ian Kirk, finishing 158th and 159th in 1.23.31 and 1.23.32 respectively.

Ruth Cousin did not enjoy the run but still clocked a personal best, 1.28.48 in 197th place. Just behind her, Emily Partridge clocked 1.29.24, followed by Angela Bebbington who set a massive new personal best by around seven minutes, as she clocked a fast 1.32.28, just ahead of the ever improving Sarah Malone who also set a new personal best time with 1.32.49. Helen Finn ran 1.35.52 before two more Ivanhoe Runners setting new personal bests for ten miles, Grania Towle with 1.38.33 and Jenny Hope 1.41.09 to round off a brilliant team performance.

In the White Peak 16 mile Trail Run, Mark Hoult ran and excellent 2.36.45 to finish 71st
