With no league races last weekend, Ivanhoe Runners took the opportunity to run in a variety of local events. The Bosworth half marathon saw six Club members tackle the warm conditions, but half of them successfully ran new personal best times despite the heat. One of these and first home for Ivanhoe was Patrick Horn who shaved four seconds off his previous best as he clocked 1.38.29 in 94th place. Helen Horn also shaved time off her previous best, beating it by seven seconds as she clocked a fine 1.57.30. Helen Smith ran 2.01.22 ahead of Sam Toon who smashed her previous best by a massive 14 minutes plus, as she clocked 2.07.34. Angela Bebbington found it tough in the heat but was happy with 2.09.06 while Grania Towle was going well until he recent ultra exploits began to catch up with her, but clocked a respectable 2.16.45.

Some Ivanhoe Runners waddled over to Wymeswold for their very popular five mile Wymeswold Waddle, held as part of their weekend festivities. First home was Craig Hinds in 10th place in 30.10, ahead of Louis Barnes setting a new five mile PB with 32.49 in 24th place, and Andy Lindley running 36.01 in 59th. Suzanne Parish was next home in 43.51, followed by Jenny Hope 46.20 setting a new personal best, Kay Gosling 58.00 in her first race for Ivanhoe and Mo Danvers 1.00.57.
