05/03/2017 - Lots of halves....East Mids 10k

Race results

Back on the tarmac, Ivanhoe Runners were in action in at least five different road races over the weekend. Travelling furthest was Helen Brandon, who took part in the Paris half marathon and clocked a creditable 2.37.55 in the French capital. Closer to home but also on the half marathon trail, Patrick Horn did the Naseby Battlefield half marathon in the swift time of 1.40.49 to clock a new personal best. Just missing his personal best - by only 3 seconds - was Jez Millington-Pipe who ran the Cambridge half marathon in 2.03.24, while Emily Partridge clocked a pleasing 1.48.32 in the Newton Fraction half marathon at Grantham as she continues high mileage training for the Brighton marathon.

Four Ivanhoe Runners ran the East Midlands 10k at Holme Pierrepoint with two of them making their racing debut at the distance. Lauren Howells was first home in a flying 58.10 to set a new personal best, in 511th place in the 850 plus field. Also setting a personal best was the amazing Sonia Hoult, clocking 1.05.23. She was accompanied by debutantes Jane Bland and Jane Connell who both did brilliantly, all three ladies clocking the same time in positions 693 to 695.
