27/11/2016 - EMA 10k

With the Derby Runner cross-country race at Bagworth cancelled due to equine interruptus, it was left to the Ivanhoe Runners competing in the EMA 10k to fly the clubs colours. In a unique event, the 10k staged on the service roads and runways  at East Midlands Airport saw fast times due to the relatively flat course and an excellent racing surface.

First home and finishing brilliantly as third lady was Clare Fowell, clocking 41.26 which was a new personal best by 6 seconds. Not far behind and also having a storming run was Hannah Knowles, finishing fifth lady and also setting a new PB time of 42.23. Simon Hill clocked 45.51 as first Ivanhoe male home, just ahead of Bob White who also had a great run, clocking 46.37 to finish 3rd in his age category.

Another Ivanhoe Runner setting a new personal best was Ruth Cousin, who was delighted with her time of 50.42, knocking nearly a minute off her previous best, while Colin Brown clocked 52.42. Just ahead of Colin, Jez Millington-Pipe was dead chuffed with his new personal best, clocking 52.12 on his "home turf".

Marie Miller was pleased with her run, with a time of 1.08.22 which earned her a new personal best, before Andy Pole came home in 1.12.40 to complete the squad.
