Ivanhoe Runners took part in the Leicester marathon and half marathon last weekend with notable success. In the marathon, Iong-distance machine Ian Kirk found all the miles have paid off with a new personal best for the distance, clocking 3.25.16 to knock almost two minutes off his previous best. Also in the marathon, Amanda Bradbury clocked a strong 4.19.02.

In the half marathon, stars of the race were Martin Rowse in his first race over the distance, clocking 1.43.26 and also finishing first Ivanhoe Runner home, and Sonia Hoult who continues to improve as she clocked a new personal best time of 2.31.31.

Running with Martin was Kevin Brown and he clocked 1.43.28, and the pair were followed by the incredible Becca Hobbs fresh from maternity clocking a great 1.51.59. Karen Bell continued her packed racing schedule as she was timed at 1.58.48, followed by a trio of Ivanhoe ladies running together - Heather Swan 1.59.48, Laura Graves 1.59.49 and Teresa Talbott 1.59.49.

Sonia was accompanied by Katie Poole, who also ran 2.31.31.
