Ivanhoe Runners took part in the Joy Cann 5 miler, the latest round of the Leicestershire Road Running League. Leading the team home was Matt Pleass in 43rd place with a time of 29.49, half a minute ahead of Craig Hinds 66th in 30.27. Men's club captain Nick Rowles continued his run of form as he clocked 31.26 in 88th, just two places ahead of Phil Stevenson 90th in 31.35. Just behind, Richard Martin clocked 32.02 in 101st, followed by a very pleased Andy Lindley 135th in 33.35.

Setting a new personal best for the distance was Mark Parker, his 33.56 being 15 seconds off his previous best time set just a month ago. In 155th place, he was the first of an Ivanhoe trio with Louis Barnes next home in 34.10 and just behind him at the finish was Alastair Burgwin in 34.09, being 156th and 157th respectively.

James Cox had a good run with 34.38 (172nd), just ahead of evergreen Andy Jeyes with 34.56 (173rd). Patrick Horn had a good run for 35.01 (193rd) while Richard Bebbington just missed a personal best as he clocked 37.40.

The first Ivanhoe lady home was Andrea Trickett, clocking a fine 38.03. She was just ahead of ladies captain Victoria Smith with 38.17 and Karen Hartland with 38.51. Emily Partridge had another great run, clocking 39.03, half-a-minute in front of Tracey Powell, who stopped the clock at 39.30.

Carolyn Osborne clocked 41.14, ahead of two ladies setting new best times: both Suzanne Parish 43.04 and Sandra Lawless 43.56 having terrific runs.

Club chairman Heather Swan finished in 44.48, while Angela Bebbington has a stormer to set a new personal best time of 45.14, knocking off over a minute and a half from her previous best. Finally Julie Henfrey clocked 57.03 to complete the Ivanhoe team.
