The Leicestershire Road Race league battle continued for Ivanhoe Runners with the Swithland 6. Run on a hot day and over an undulating course, a strong squad of 24 runners ran in sky blue, led home by Craig Hinds in 38th place in 36.18. He was closely followed by Matthew Pleass 51st in 37.11, and men’s captain Nick Rowles 90th in 39.19. Andy Lindley had a great run for his time of 40.37, finishing 135th, and James Cox ran well for 144th in 40.57. Steve Rundell was 155th in 41.26, followed by Martin Yeomans 203rd in 43.11, not enjoying the heat, and Ivanhoe’s first lady home, Sarah Terry returning to form after childbirth, clocking 44.17 as 30th lady. Just behind her Andrea Trickett was 41st lady in 45.27.

Richard Bebbington was next home in 45.34 (281st), a minute ahead of Tracey Powell having a good run with 46.27. Next was ladies captain Victoria Smith in 46.52, followed by a trio of ladies close together - Lynda Revill running a fine 47.38, Karen Bell 47.42 and Karen Hartland 47.28. Hannah Knowles was next in 48.27, the same time as Laura Collier, and Carolyn Osborne ran around 51.18. There was then a gap to club chairperson Heather Swan not enjoying the heat in 55.18. She was closely followed by Ange Bebbington with 55.31. Jenny Hope was the last Ivanhoe runner under the hour, clocking a great 58.31 which was a new personal best.

A group of newer Ivanhoe Runners ran together and finished strongly – Chrissy Betteridge in 1.07.13, Sonia Hoult in 1.07.14 -  a great new personal best - and Lucy Allsop on the comeback from injury 1.07.15, and they were closely followed by Julie Henfrey 1.09.32.
