Race results

Another really busy week for Ivanhoe Runners saw a league fixture clash as the new Leicestershire Road Running League Gaddesby 7 clashed with the Burton and District Summer League Burton 10. Despite this, competitive teams were fielded in both events as well as two marathons also on the Sunday.

The Gaddesby 7 is a new race in the calendar and proved popular with runners, even though the start was uphill which led to a fast downhill finish. Craig Hinds led the team home in 31st place in 43.11, before new member Matthew Pleass made his debut for the Club in 59th place in 45.27. Andy Lindley was next home and the course clearly suited him as he set a new personal best time of 48.22 in 101st. Clare Fowell is supposed to be resting after a fast London Marathon but raced well here for 50.37, 15th lady. Mark Parker ran 51.03 (153rd), ahead of Andy Jeyes who despite being sore from a biking fall still managed 51.37 (164th).

Damon Bland did not enjoy the precipitous finish but clocked 53.58 (214th), ahead of Ingrid Stevenson 55.55 (47th lady). Lynda Revill ran well to finish first vet60 with a time of 56.44, while Carolyn Osborne ran 1.00.47, followed by new member Tim Moore making his club debut with 1.01.52, Jez Millington-Pipe 1.02.13, Emily Partridge 1.04.42 and Julie Henfrey 1.29.55.
