The busy season continued for Ivanhoe Runners with club members spread across several events over the bank holiday weekend. The Uttoxeter half marathon held on a hilly rural course, was the latest round of the Burton and District Summer League. First home was Ramzi Sidani in 1.21.17 in 14th place, a great run which placed him second v40. Next home was men’s captain Nick Rowles, 39th in 128.45, his fastest run on this course, ahead of debut half marathoner James Cox, who ran an excellent 1.34.53 in 69th place. Andy Lindley was 81st in 1.36.40, also his fastest uttoxeter time, ahead of Martin Yeomans 100th finisher in 1.41.14. He narrowly beat Matt Joyce who was just three places and 45 seconds behind in 103rd with 1.41.59.

Mark Parker was next Ivanhoe Runner, 121st in 1.44.03, just ahead of first Ivanhoe lady home, Andrea Trickett who set a brilliant new personal best time of 1.44.22, shaving just two seconds off her previous best! She was also the third vet35 lady home. Kev Wright ran 1.47.20 (149th) just ahead of ladies captain Victoria Smith, 1.48.42 (157th). Karen Hartland ran 1.50.56 (173), while Fiona McKean ran 2.03.16 (220th) to complete the team. Andy, Karen, Fiona and Martin then ran another 7 miles to make a 20 mile day out!

Based on the provisional results, both teams are excelling with the women are leading the Burton and District Summer League and the men are lying second.
