Ivanhoe Runners continued their autumn marathon action at the weekend with three members taking part in the Chester Marathon. Despite being disappointed with his performance Dave Hobbs was still fastest for Ivanhoe finishing 435th in 3:31:11. Regular marathoner Ian Kirk supported his team mate Damon Bland who was making his debut at the 26.2 mile distance with Ian crossing in 867th place (3:58:25) and Damon just behind in 868th (3:58:27), an excellent time for his first marathon. In the Chester metric marathon (26.2km) long Andy Lindley was first Ivanhoe finisher with a strong run to place 112th in 2:04:20. Close behind came Becca Hobbs who finished an impressive 15th lady (129th) in 2:06:52 and Katie Poole continued her excellent season finishing 707th in 2:55:41. Richard and Angela Bebbington headed to Mablethorpe where Richard completed the full marathon in 3:48:07 having to battle through the second half whilst Angela smashed her half marathon personal best time by some 23 minutes finishing in 2:10:37. At the Shelton Striders 10k Alistair Chambers had another good run to finish 38th in 38:55 followed by the on-form Karen Bell, 143rd in 46:45. Finally Judy Edlin was delighted to set a new personal best of 50:29 (205th).
