Ivanhoe Runners had yet another successful weekend starting with Karen Bell who ran her first ever cross country marathon at Kirkstall Abbey. She was rewarded for her fantastic performance with the 2nd female trophy as she made light work of the tough hilly course. Steve Rundell also ran and had a good race in the difficult conditions.

Sunday 22nd November saw a clash of races with the Loughborough 10k scheduled on the same morning as the Derby Runner Cross Country round two race at Bagworth Heath Woods. Not wanting to miss either event Andy Lindley and Karen Hartland decided to run both – to make the cross country start line meant they had to put in an extra fast time at Loughborough and both achieved this. Andy set a fantastic new personal best time of 41:57 (48th) whilst Karen was just outside her best crossing in 48:54 (118th). Ahead of them having a sensational race to set yet another new personal fastest time was Clare Fowell, third lady and 46th overall in 41:32. Also having a great run in her first 10k for the club was Jenny Hope, finishing in 1:00:11 (288th).
