Two Ivanhoe ladies came home with prizes from the Leicester midweek 5k on Wednesday with Clare Fowell taking first place in an excellent 20:59 (16th overall) and Anne Newbury bringing home an age group prize (9th lady, 48th overall, 26:42). Ivanhoe Runners were out in force this weekend at the Seagrave Wolds Challenge on Saturday, a popular but testing cross country race of over 16 miles distance renowned for its plentiful refreshment stops piled high with home baked cakes and to sustain the runners. Fastest for Ivanhoe was Andy Lindley who set a new course record finishing 139th in 2:30:56 with Alan Edwards having a great race to finish not far behind in 2:39:01 (167th). Next came a strong group finishing together lead by Tim Sturla (170th, 2:40:00) followed by Karen Bell (171st, 2:40:01), Damon Bland (172nd, 2:40:05) and Ian Kirk (173rd, 2:40:10). Ingrid Redmond and Ruth Enion ran together to finish next 279th and 180th (3:09:17, 3:09:19) just ahead of Rosie Dear (284th, 3:10:25). The next trio of Ivanhoe ladies enjoyed the run coming 292nd-294th with Victoria Smith crossing in 3:12:36, Carolyn Osborne 3:12:41 and Teresa Talbott 3:12:48. Judy Edlin was close behind (297th, 3:15:52) ahead of Trish McPherson (312th, 3:22:13), Sarah Sanganee (328th, 3:33:26) and Fiona McKean (331st, 3:34:03). Karen Edwards completed the team finishing 348th in 3:42:11.
