27/09/2015 - Rutland Berlin Nottingham

Autumn marathon season started in great style for Ivanhoe Runners at the weekend, with Clare Fowell recording the performance of the day as she finished first lady and seventh overall in the tough, largely off road, Rutland marathon, a fantastic achievement. Alistair Chambers and Fiona McKean ran the Berlin marathon, with Alistair having a very strong run completing in 3:04:47 whilst Fiona found the going tough but completed in 4:31 raising lots of money for the British Kidney Patient Association in the process. Steve Rundell and Tim Sturla took on the Robin Hood Nottingham marathon, with Steve having an excellent race to finish in 3:25:42 (155th). Despite describing his own performance as “lacklustre”, Tim still managed to finish in 3:42:15 (278th). In the half marathon distance at Nottingham, Andy Lindley lead the team home with a great run that saw him set a new personal best time of 1:30:36 (356th) ahead of Simon Terry (520th in 1:34:02). Mark Eydman also beat his previous fastest time finishing in 1:36:19 (571st) closely followed by Kew Wright (1:37:03. 608th). Leading the ladies home was Karen Bell in a great time of 1:46:31 (1514th) with Shane Stanton next (1:55:39, 2591st). Lindsay Tilbury ran an impressive debut half marathon crossing the line in 1:55:58 (3174th) ahead of Sarah Sanganee (3598th in 2:08:15) and Grania Towle (4830th in 2:09:47). Diane Brocklesby was next taking some 12 minutes off last year’s time (2:11:29, 5044th) while Jennifer Hope did very well as she completed her first half marathon in Ivanhoe colours (2:21:08, 5944th). Finally Maureen Danvers and Katie Poole enjoyed running the route together finishing strongly in 2:22:03 (6115th and 6117th).
