Race results


This week saw a clash of the leagues with races in both the LRRL and BDSL. The captains had their work cut out selecting teams for both events  but were rewarded with great performances and the mens first team prize in teh Burton Belvedere 10k race. Leading the team home with a fine race was Mike Trott, 11th in 37:56 closely followed by Ian Bolton, 13th in 38:28 and Ramzi Sidani, 14th in 39:05. Richard Martin completed the scoring four crossing in 18th place in 39:30. Gerard Eivors was next with a great run to set a new personal best time of 40:43 (28th). Next came Alistair Chambers and Martin Yeomans who had a great battle throughout the race, with Alistair just overtaking at the finish pacing 39th in 41:26 with Martin seconds behind (40th in 41:30). Close on his heels was Osian Flowers (42nd in 41:32) followed by men’s captain Nick Rowles (50th in 42:31) and Andy Lindley (51st in 42:54), a new personal best time for Andy. Also beating his previous best time was James Cubitt (70th, 44:35), with Kev Wright close behind (74th, 45:09). Fastest lady was Rosie Dear with a great run (14th lady and 102nd overall, 48:07) just ahead of ladies’ captain Laura Graves (114th, 49:21) and Ruth Enion (116th, 49:39). Next came Lynda Revill who took first prize for her age group (129th, 50:44) followed by Tracey Powell (137th, 51:36) and Victoria Smith (140th, 52:00). Next came Judy Edlin, running well to finish in 55:00 (168th) ahead of Michael Swan (205th, 57:37). Helen Smith was running her debut 10k for the club and ran well to beat the hour mark (205th, 59:55) followed by Heather Swan (217th, 1:02:52) and Katie Poole (240th, 1:07:17). Julie Henfrey completed the team (250th, 1:14:29). The fantastic Ivanhoe team performances see both the men and ladies top of the BDSL with one race to go.
