10/05/2015 - Burton 10![]() Ivanhoe Runners continued their excellent form in the Burton and District Summer League at the weekend with the ladies triumphant taking the first team prize at the Burton 10 mile race and the men an excellent third despite several members missing through illness and injury. Ramzi Sidani continued his fine form finishing comfortably in sixth place in 1:02:44, a new personal best time. Next was Ian Bolton running very well crossing in 11th place in 1:05:08 ahead of Gerard Eivors, 24th in 1:08:40. Next came a trio of Ivanhoe men who worked hard together throughout the two lap course lead by Andy Lindley, 42nd in 1:12:26 with Kev Wright, 43rd in 1:12:35 and Nick Rowles, 44th (1:13:03) in close pursuit, a great new personal best time for Nick. Matthew Joyce enjoyed his first league race for the club finishing strongly in 1:16:04 (66th) just ahead of Richard Bebbington and Damon Bland who finished together in 1:16:14 (68th and 69th places). Pav Mazur was also running his first ten mile race for the club and despite fading slightly at the end finished in an impressive 1:18:34 (77th). Leading the Ivanhoe ladies to victory was Julia Blewitt-Jenkins with a fantastic run to beat her personal best time set some five years ago, 83rd in 1:18:57. Roger Beaven was next, 83rd in 1:20:05 followed by a very welcome return to the team by Ruth Enion who had a great run finishing in 1:21:08 (87th). Next came Jason Green returning from injury and crossing the line in 1:21:43 (95th) ahead of another recently injured runner, Laura Graves, finishing well to cross in 1:23:58 in 104th place just ahead of Carolyn Osborne (105th in 1:24:09), Victoria Smith (108th in 1:24:23) and Amanda Bradbury (112th in 1:25:09). Fiona McKean had a good run, next (125th in 1:29:11) with Teresa Talbott next after cycling to the start (128th in 1:29:40). Helen Horn had a great race to set a new personal best time of 1:30:15 (132nd) ahead of Lucy Allsop finishing strongly in her first ten mile race (141st in 1:32:13). Heather Swan was next, 148th in 1:34:15 followed by Angela Bebbington (164th in 1:40:45). The next three runners were all completing their first 10 mile race for the club and all ran well with John Lewis 175th in 1:48:12, Katie Poole 176th in 1:48:23 and Fiona Speirs 179th in 1:49:05.
