Elsewhere a strong group of Ivanhoe marathoners took on the Stafford 20 mile race, a multiple lap event run in tough, cold and wet conditions. Mike Trott had a superb race finishing 9th overall in a very speedy 2:04:01 ahead of Alistair Chambers, 58th in 2:19:38. Andy Lindley was next with a storming run to knock 5 minutes of his personal best, 115th in 2:29:52. Mark Eydman was next in his first ever 20 mile race with an excellent 2:47:44 finish (217th). Mel Ferrie and Julia Blewitt-Jenkins completed the team as they both set excellent new personal fastest times over the distance (2:49:52, 230th and 2:50:09, 232nd). Becca Hallam unfortunately had to pull out at the ten mile point with a suspected stress fracture. In other races Clare Fowell ran the Draycott 10 mile, her debut at this event, and had a fantastic morning to finish 4th lady and 17th overall in an excellent 1:10:37.
