16/02/2014 - Stamford 30k

This weekend also saw the 21st running of the Valentines 30K race organised by Stamford Striders. The race takes place along beautiful rural country lanes in South Lincolnshire and Rutland on a very hilly challenging course. Nine Ivanhoe Runners braved the event, enjoying perfect running conditions on a gloriously sunny cool day. First home smashing his personal best by over 6 minutes was Nick Teige finishing an excellent 59th place in 2:06:26. Tim Sturla was next in another great run, 215th in 2:25:41 with Rebecca Hallam just behind in her first ever 30k race, 216th in an impressive debut time of 2:25:51. Next was strong running Ian Kirk, 243rd in 2:27:45. Continuing her fantastic run of form was Laura Graves, next, with a new PB of 2:37:36 (341st and 6th in category). Heather Swan and Emma Kirtland were next finishing in 2:50:57 and 2:50:58 (444th and 445th), Heather’s time was a massive twelve minute personal best and for Emma this was an excellent debut 30k race. Ivanhoe’s only Valentines couple rounded off the team with Ruth and Jason Green running together and finishing in 2:57:32 (490th and 491st) a great time for Jason’s first race for the club and his longest ever run.
