18/12/2014 - Keyworth Turkey Trot

Race results

The last racing weekend of the year was once again another incredibly successful one for Ivanhoe Runners. The final race of the club Grand Prix series took place at the Keyworth Turkey Trot, a challenging half marathon run over undulating rural roads in perfect running conditions. Fastest for the team was Ramzi Sidani with an excellent run, finishing 31st in 1:22:20 just ahead of the equally impressive Mike Trott, 33rd in 1:22:23 which just beat his previous personal fastest time. Ian Bolton was next continuing his excellent season, 66th in 1:26:03 closely followed by Dave Hobbs who had a brilliant race to set a new personal best of 1:26:46 as he finished in 70th place. Fastest Ivanhoe lady with a superb run was Becca Hallam who concluded her excellent year by beating the club record for the distance as she crossed in 1:29:37 (5th lady and 99th overall). Kev Wright was next with his fastest time of the year, 107th in 1:30:39 followed by Nick Rowles who finished strongly in 1:32:34 (139th). Andy Lindley ran well finishing in 184th in 1:35:16 just ahead of  Clare Fowell who ran brilliantly crossing in 1:36:05 (196th). This was good enough to win her the first Vet 45 prize of a trophy and a turkey, somewhat ironic given that she is a vegetarian!

Tim Caukwell finished next, 275th in 1:39:40 just ahead of Nick Lee-Smith, 289th in 1:40:40. Damon Bland was next also setting a fine new personal best time of 1:40:56 (295th) just ahead of Laura Graves who rounded off her excellent running year with an impressive new personal best time of 1:41:03 (296th). Rosie Dear finished well next, 325th in 1:42:44 a second in front of Alan Ferrie who was delighted to beat his previous personal fastest time (1:42:45, 327th). Jason Green had a brilliant run to smash his personal best by some 12 minutes finishing in 1:47:20 (445th) followed by Julia Blewitt-Jenkins who finished strongly in 1:49:47 (512th). Victoria Smith was next also running well, 519th in 1:50:42 with Ruth Green just behind as she set a new personal best time of 1:50:51 (522nd). Next came Karen Hartland who enjoyed the race crossing in 1:51:24 (535th) ahead of good runs from Amanda Bradbury (1:54:14, 597th) and Rebecca Wilkinson (638th in 1:56:56). Gabby Smith and Heather Swan finished well close together with Gabby crossing in 2:01:34 (711th) and Heather 2:01:50 (716th). Teresa Talbott completed the Ivanhoe finishers, smiling all the way round and crossing in 2:09:19 (797th place). It was fitting that the team finished 2014 on a high with the ladies team of Becca Hallam, Clare Fowell and Laura Graves lifting the first prize trophy.
