Race results

Ivanhoe Runners were out in force in Nottinghamshire this week. On Wednesday evening eight club members took part in the Notts 5 mile race – a 2 lap race along the Victoria Embankment. Despite the warm conditions there were some great performances including several personal best times. First home for the club finishing in an excellent 28th place was Richard Martin in 30:37 ahead of Nick Rowles who had a great run to set a new personal fastest time over the distance of 33:39 (48th place). Karen Bell, returning to racing following injury had a good night finishing fastest Ivanhoe lady and 17th female overall in 38:29 (103rd) just seconds ahead of Victoria Smith who smashed her personal best finishing in an excellent 38:34 (104th and 18th lady) closely followed by Julia Blewitt-Jenkins who ran through discomfort finishing 19th lady (108th) in 39:10. The ever improving Karl Savill was next, also beating his previous best time, 117th in 40:10 ahead of Fiona McKean, 31st lady (141st overall) in 43:30 and Heather Swan, 41st lady (159th overall) in 46:14. The team finished the evening off with a well earned drink in The Riverside Bar!
