Race results

Provisional results here.

A large team of Ivanhoe Runners ran the Hermitage 10K on Sunday 20th July. The course is well known for being hilly with the first 2.5 mile run up a very steep hill. The hot and humid weather made conditions even tougher for the competitors.

First home for Ivanhoe was new recruit Osian Flowers, running only his second race for the club, finishing 58th with a time of 42m 15s. Osian was chased all the way by club stalwart Dave Morse, who ran his best race for many years, to finish 60th in 42:26. Men’s Captain Martin Yeomans had another strong race to finish 74th (43:23). The next two scorers for Ivanhoe were Kev Wright (90th, 44:24) and Nick Rowles (99th, 44:59), both recording solid runs. Mike Sharpe and Tim Sturla battled each other all the way round the course to finish 106th and 107th, with Mike narrowly winning out (45:10 to Tim’s 45:25). Damon Bland completed Ivanhoe’s Men’s Team finishing 122nd in 46:02. Richard Bebbington ran his first race since the London Marathon in April to finish 149th in 47:14. Ruth Enion was Ivanhoe’s first female home, finishing 17th lady and 168th overall. She also recorded her fastest 10K time of the year, 48:11. Karen Bell ran cautiously as she was returning from injury, yet was still Ivanhoe’s 2nd lady, finishing 205th and 29th lady (50:13). Victoria Smith showed how much she has improved this year by recording her 2nd fastest 10K time of 50:48 to finish 219th, 36th female. Karen Hartland was not far behind to complete Ivanhoe’s Ladies Team (228th and 39th lady, 51:14). Following on from some serious training, Chris Finney is improving rapidly. His reward was his fastest 10K time of the year, 51:30 to finish 233rd. Carolyn Osborne was next to finish for Ivanhoe 260th, and 49th lady (53:02). Club Chairman Kev Sanders, a very reluctant entrant into the race, finished 282nd (54:24). His comment afterwards – “Reet ot n illy!”. Fiona McKean had only just returned from holiday yet still chose to race. She finished 307th and 75th lady in 56:44. Will Wright was next for Ivanhoe (320th, 58:37) and described it as the toughest race he’d ever run! A trio of Ivanhoe ladies then finished in quick succession. Seran Bradley was 331st, 87th lady (59:14). She was closely followed by Angela Bebbington (334th, 89th lady, 59:23) running her first race for Ivanhoe for a long time. Kelly Finney had an interesting race. She ran her fastest 10K time of the year, 59:35, to finish 336th and 90th lady. She was no doubt spurred on in her run by trying to get away from the guy caught on camera looking at her boobs! Heather Swan suffered in the heat had a very tough run to record a time of 1:03:11 (372nd, 11th lady). Andy Pole ran his first 10K of the year to finish 392nd in 1:05:49. Finally Julie Henfrey battled all the way round the course and was rewarded with a Personal Best at the finish, 1:18:28 for 405th position.
