02/03/2014 - Belvoir, Cambridge, Nairn

Saturday 2nd March saw perfect running conditions for the Belvoir Challenge, a tough cross country race with full 26 mile marathon distance and a shorter 15 mile course. Only one brave Ivanhoe Runner finished the full distance but Tim Sturla did so in some style, finishing a tremendous 46th place in 4:18:10. Elaine Moulton and Brian Gough ran the 15 mile route in 5:33:55 and 5:33:57 respectively enjoying the numerous cake stops en route. Continuing the off road theme Ian Kirk and Francesca Sinclair competed in the Cambridge Boundary Run Marathon on Sunday 3rd, with a route mixing trails and roads around the edge of the City. Ian finished in an excellent 40th place in 3:44 with Francesca 133rd in 4:40. Elsewhere club Chairman Kev Sanders ran the Nairn 10k up in Scotland and had a great race to finish in 48:08. At the Silverstone half marathon there were great runs for Rebecca Wilkinson (1:54:19 ) and Angela Wheeler (2:10:55), new personal best times for both runners.
