With many runners entering their final few weeks of marathon training, it was a depleted Ivanhoe Runners squad that competed in the latest round of the Leicestershire Road Running League, the Stilton 7 mile race. The race provided a good challenge ran on a hilly 2 lap route in warm conditions on a course that was slightly long and both captains lead the way finishing first for the team. Martin Yeomans was fastest Ivanhoe Runner finishing 116th in 50:19 ahead of Kev Wright with a great run to come home 132nd in 51:10. Andy Lindley was next, 134th in 52:21 before Ladies captain who had a fabulous run beating her previous personal best time by over 5 minutes to finish 25th lady (169th overall) in 53:46. Dave Morse was next, 175th in 54:01 despite injury before Victoria Smith, 237th in 57:35. Kev Sanders completed the race on the back of his 100th park run the previous day, coming 256th in 59:35, just ahead of Amanda Bradbury, 260th in 59:59. Emma Kennedy was next with a new personal best of 61:00 (268th) followed by Allie Sturla and Teresa Talbott in 277th (61:50) and 278th (61:58) places ahead of Fiona McKean, 289th in 62:41. Karl Savill rounded off the men’s team with a 63:44 finish (299th) just in front of Heather Swan (301st, 64:06). Bev Trilloe had a great run for her debut race for the club (306th in 64:35), finishing together with Angela Wheeler who had a brilliant race to beat her personal best by 9 minutes, 308th in 64:38. Julie Henfrey was also running her first ever race for the club and completed the team finishing in 355th place in 85:28.
