The weekend of 21st-22nd of June was a historic one for a pair of Ivanhoe Runners as Ian Kirk and Tim Sturla took on the incredible challenge of running The Wall, a 69 mile long ultramarathon along the route of Hadrian’s wall from Carlisle Castle to Gateshead Millennium Bridge. Running together over two days, Ian and Tim finished the tough multi-terrain event in an amazing 13 hours 9 minutes 41 seconds placing them 21st out of 230 finishers and an excellent third placed running pair. Well done to both on an awesome achievement out of the reach of many runners.
