Over at the Burton 10 mile race Ramzi Sidani was once again fastest for Ivanhoe with a great run seeing him finish 14th in 1:03:34. Alistair Chambers was next, 34th in 1:07:58 ahead of another strong run from Kev Wright, 49th in 1:11:35 and Andy Lindley, returning from illness to place 73rd in 1:16:17 just seconds in front of Nick Rowles, 75th in 1:16:33. Tim Caukwell was next, 84th in 1:17:35 ahead of a storming run from Rosie Dear, 89th and 11th lady in 1:18:19. Nicholas Lee-Smith ran his debut 10 mile race finishing next, 104th in 1:19:41 ahead of another debutant, Damon Bland, in his first ever race for the club running well to finish 112th in 1:20:37. Next came Ruth Green, 149th and 27th lady in 1:26:14 ahead of Teresa Talbott who ran a fine race after cycling to the start to finish 174th in 1:29:26 and Fiona McKean, 175th in 1:29:27. Karl Savill suffered in the heat and did well to finish the race in 1:36:53 (213rd place). Gabby Smith ran the first 5 mile lap but, along with many other runners, was forced to drop out at half way suffering from the heat in the very difficult conditions.
