05/03/2023 - A bit of a PB palooza.

Whilst we wait patiently for the Derby Runner league to publish results from the final XC, we’ve got tons more updates from the past few weekends.

Alistair Chambers had a flyer at the Wrexham half marathon, the fast field in Wales saw him finish 323rd place and 6th in his age category with a stonking 1:29:51. He was back on a start line at last weekends Fradley 10K, where a superb time of 38:27 soared him in the rankings from 6th to 1st in his category. Faye Burrows joined him for this two lapper near Lichfield, where she ran a 1:10:13 in her first race of ’23.

Alex Gillon had a fabulous run at the Nottingham Winter Warmer half marathon, a personal best setting morning in a time of 1:53:11, more than 6 minutes slashed from Prestwold a year ago. The feat also earnt her 14th female, great job Alex!

In action at the Bourton 10K, was Richard Martin, his time of 39:07 saw him finish 101st and put an impressive gold standard time on the board for his first run over the distance this year.

Four from the blue team tried their hand round the Leicestershire Half marathon at Prestwold Hall hosted by RunThrough. Dan Bladon was first back, his debut 13.1 as a club member, taking a generous chunk from his previous best of 1:31. Next in was Jordan Cope, who has been making amazing strides over the past year, and demonstrated this loud and clear with almost a 16 minute personal best putting his 2018 Derby half time behind him. 1:33:45 is his new high score and a second bronze standard added to his growing CV. Matt Joyce was next to the gravel finish line alongside the stunning hall, a time of 1:44:13 was a solid training run and Matt said he was happy with how it went despite the odd ache and pain. Judy Mouncer completed our team, a 2:03:58 saw her complete her first race of the year.

Also trying their hand at the half marathon distance were two runners in the east of the country. At the Cambridge half it was a personal best for Mark Parker by more an two minutes, the 1:14:16 a super shiny diamond standard time. It was a long awaited PB for Emily Partridge, her time of 1:33:43 a solid improvement on her time from the now discontinued Liverpool Rock n Roll event.
