The hottest day of the year saw some sizzling performances from Ivanhoe Runners despite the heat. Four hardy souls took on the Brighton Marathon which saw very high temperatures, but two of the quartet were rewarded with their fastest ever marathon times. One of these and first home for Ivanhoe was Mark Parker, clocking and excellent 3.28.13 to set a new best. The next Ivanhoe Runner home also set a new personal best, a delighted Ruth Cousin clocking 4.07.47 to knock over eight minutes off her previous best. Mark Eydman did not enjoy the high temperature as he clocked 4.24.45, while Emily Partridge was happy with her time of 4.38.50 after a series of injury niggles.

Also on the marathon trail but further afield were Alistair Burgwin and Karl Smith in the Paris Marathon. Alistair ran a strong 3.13.22 and Karl was very happy to smash his personal best by eight minutes as he clocked 3.43.43, a good days work.
