01/01/2017 - Barrow h'cap, Hunc' H, Irish 5k

Despite the festive period, Ivanhoe Runners still did a lot of running over the holiday, including the possibility of five parkruns across nine days. There were also a couple of races going on as well. Three members did the Barrow Runners Boxing Day handicap, with Andy Lindley first home for Ivanhoe in 43.05 (54th), followed by Lynda Revill 49.52 (140th) and Karen Hartland 51.37 (161st).

The Huncote Hash 6.5 mile New Year's Eve 6.5 mile cross-country event always sells out quickly but five Ivanhoe Runners took part. Andy Lindley was again present, meaning he has done over 52 races in 2016, i.e. at the rate of a race per week. He clocked 53.54 at Huncote to finish 78th. Four Ivanhoe Runners ran together in fancy dress. First across the line was Laura Graves (299th, 1.21.30), accompanied by Amanda Bradbury (300th, 1.21.42), Heather Swan (301st, 1.21.43) and Teresa Talbott (302nd, 1.21.44).

Over the water in Eire, Phil and Ingrid Stevenson did the Tom Brennan 5k in Phoenix Park in Dublin. Running together, Phil paced Ingrid round to a new personal best time for 5k of 21.50.
