In the Hermitage 10k, part of the Leicestershire Road Running League, Ivanhoe Runners fielded a squad of 26 to maintain their momentum in the league. Craig Hinds led them home in 48th in a fine time of 38.56, half a minute ahead of Ian Bolton 53rd in 39.39. Louis Barnes made his club debut at 10k clocking 42.45 in 112th, before the “engine room” came in close together, with James Cubitt clocking 43.44 in 135th, then Martin Yeomans in 144th (44.18), Patrick Horn in 149th (44.28) and Andy Lindley in 151st (44.45). Matt Joyce was 204th in 46.46 before Ivanhoe’s first lady stormed home in a new  personal best, Rosie Dear clocking a great 47.37. Chris Finney made a welcome appearance and ran 49.08 in 250th, before Colin Brown on his 10k debut clocked 50.47 (280th).

Ladies captain Victoria Smith ran a fine 50.59, closely followed by a great run from Teresa Talbott 51.39 as she prepares for her Ironman triathlon. Tim Sturla found 10k a bit short for him, but ran well for 51.52, ahead of Sarah Malone who ran an excellent new personal best time of 52.52. Carolyn Osborne clocked 53.19, ahead of Amanda Bradbury 54.15 and Ruth Green who was delighted to be back racing after injury and was more than happy with 56.25.

Suzanne Parish made her debut at 10k and clocked a fine 57 minutes, ahead of personal best-setting Christine Ridley, running 57.59. Sandra Lawless made her 10k debut and was timed at 58.53, ahead of Grania Towle 1.00.32 and Jenny Hope 1.02.40. Club chairman Heather Swan and newcomer Sam Toon ran together, with Sam making her 10k debut. They clocked 1.04.39 and 1.04.38, while Julie Henfrey finished in 1.14.26.
