01/08/2016 - Wot no races ? Various parkruns

The lack of league races last week and an absence of other events meant that Ivanhoe Runners enjoyed the atmosphere at a number of parkruns around the country, with 38 club members turning out at ten different venues.

At the club's "home" parkrun at Conkers, 28 members ran with Richard Martin finishing 5th overall in 18.43 and Faith Tipper 3rd lady in 21.04. Other notable runs at Conkers were Suzanne Parish who clocked a new personal best of 25.33 paced by Andy Lindley, and Judith Webster-Sanders who hit the 150 parkrun mark.

In London, Martin Yeomans did Southwark parkrun in a swift 20.41, while over at Burgess parkrun Amy Sanders set a new personal best time of 25.36. The Terry family hit Aberystwyth and last minute nappy changes saw them miss the start and hence run a leisurely 24 minutes, Simon clocking 24.33 and Sarah 24.48. Lucy Allsop tried Folkestone parkrun and clocked 28.01, while at Lyme Park Ian Bolton clocked 21.10.

Closer to home, Emily Partridge clocked 23.38 at Leicester Victoria, Laura Collier ran 24.55 at Rushcliffe, Tim Moore set a new personal best of 24.25 at Walsall, and Bob White ran 24.29 at Newark parkrun.
