The Burton and District summer league kicked off with the Run in the Forest Five miler, and 37 Ivanhoe Runners took part, a great turnout, which was rewarded with a brilliant win for the ladies team and a fantastic second place for the men’s team. First home in 5th overall was Ramzi Sidani in 29.38, ahead of Craig Hinds 9th in 30.22. Gez Eivors ran 31.49 to claim a great 21st place, ahead of Simon Terry who claimed a personal best with 32.24 in 25th. James Cubitt continued his run of form as he clocked 32.53 in 32nd, and James Cox was 43rd in 34.16. He was just ahead of Martin Yeomans 45th in 34.33.

Andy Jeyes had a good run to clock 34.53 in 50th place, just before Ivanhoe’s first lady home, Faith Tipper, produced a brilliant run to finish 4th lady in 35.29. She was hotly pursued by Emily Wideman finishing 5th lady in 35.42, a new personal best. They had been accompanied by Andy Lindley who was 57t overall in 35.43. Next home was Kevin Brown, 60th in 36.05 just ahead of Martin Rowse 63rd in 36.29, Matt Joyce 66th in 36.37 and Damon Bland 68th in 36.43.

Third lady for Ivanhoe and 7th overall was Rosie Dear in 37.28, not far in front of Sarah Terry 8th lady in 37.50. Captain Victoria Smith had a great run to clock 38.18 as 9th lady, ahead of Alan Edwards who was 86th in 38.36. Karen Hartland was 16th lady in 39.33, while Amanda Bradbury was the last Ivanhoe Runner to crack 40 minutes a she clocked a swift 39.51 (18th). Emma Kirtland set yet another personal best in 21st place with 40.48, while Laura Graves tuned up for London with a time of 41.03 (22nd), ahead of new member Hannah Knowles 41.28 (23rd), Carolyn Osborne 41.33 (24th), another new member Alison Cooper 42.25 (28th) and Sally Jeyes 42.26 (29th) who gained her standard time and was first vet65 home.

Heather Swan (38th) finished with Kev Wright (139th) in 43.20, with Simon Hall (43.34, 142nd) just behind. Christine Ridley was 44th lady in 44.04, just ahead of Ruth Cousin (44.13, 46th) and Karen Edwards (44.55, 50th). Grania Towle was 73rd in 48.48 followed by Jenny Hope in 75th (49.10), Janet Allen (81st in 51.09), Maxie Brown (90th in 53.54) and Mhaira Massey (92nd in 54.40). Julie Henfrey and Katie Poole finished together in 95th (57.00) and 96th (57.01).
