On "Ashby 20 Saturday" the club trained on the course and fastest man home was Ramzi Sidani in 2.09.30, a new personal best, whilst fastest lady was inevitably Clare Fowell in a blistering 2.24.14, a personal best and course record. Ramzi had to out-sprint Ian Bolton who set a pb of 2.09.44, while third man was Nick Rowles in a PB  2.24.

Osian Flowers ran 2.29, while Gez Eivors in his first 20 ran 2.29. Andy Lindley clocked 2.38.45 and inherited a John Wayne gait for his troubles, ahead of Pav Mazur and Andy Jeyes who ran together, PAv in his first 20 clocking 2.41.47 and Andy 2.41.50. Martin Yeomans clocked 2.57.59 after suffering with tight hamstrings, while Matt Joyce ran 2.59 and Nick Lee-Smith 3.06.06.

Behind Clare, Mel Ferrie ran well for 2.54.30, while Lynda Revill set a PB time of 2.54.40. Andrea Trickett ran around 2.54.53 on a slightly "modified" route, ahead of Laura Graves who also lost the finish as she clcoked around three hours ahead of the London Marathon. Also London bound, Amanda Bradbury ran 3.04 and Heather Swan ran 3.05.44, ahead of Hannah Knowles 3.05.50 in her first 20 mile run. Teresa Talbott was pleased with 3.11, ahead of Ruth Cousing who seemed to be running in slippers as she clocked 3.11.26. Lisa Hughes smashed her previous best time, clocking 3.12.06, while Lindsay Tilbury and Emily Wideman both debuted at 20 mles and clocked 3.12.43 and 3.12.48. Finally Emily Partridge ran 3.23.39.

Elsewhere, the marathon machine Tim Sturla ran his 50th race of marathon distance or longer as he competed in the tough Charnwood Marathon, a 27 mile race taking in all the highest points of the county including Bardon Hill, Beacon Hill and Old John. Tim enjoyed the run, clocking 5.01.
