Friday night was awards night in both the Burton and District Summer League (BDSL) and Leicestershire Road Running League(LRRL) and Ivanhoe Runners came home laden with prizes after a very successful season. The men’s team were overall winners for the first time in the BDSL with the ladies team taking the runners up spot and Ian Bolton was the overall male series winner and Victoria Smith winner of the overall female prize. Ramzi Sidani took second prize in the senior male category and Alistair Chambers was second vet50 with Martin Yeomans third. Andy Jeyes went one better winning his vet60 category whilst his wife Sally Jeyes took the runners up prize in the ladies vet65 group. Katie Poole who only started running with the Ivanhoe beginners group at the beginning of this year showed just how far she has come as she won 2nd prize in the ladies under 25 category whilst fellow beginner Lucy Allsop was third senior lady. Ladies Captain Laura Graves was third vet 45 in the BDSL but represented the club at the LRRL awards evening where Clare Fowell won the runners up trophy in the Vet45 category and the ladies veteran team won the third placed team trophy.
