With no league races scheduled this weekend just a small number of Ivanhoe Runners braved the wind and rain at various different races. Performance of the week came from Clare Fowell once again with a superb performance in the Shakespeare 10k race where she came 2nd lady overall in a great time of 42:05, not far from her personal best despite an ankle injury. Ian Kirk set himself the challenge of the incredibly tough 46 mile Brecon Ultramarathon despite flying in from Japan less than 24 hours before the start. In the end the conditions became too tough for him to continue with the toughest parts of the course very exposed, but he still ran 30 miles, his 8th marathon distance run in 10 weeks.
