20/04/2015 - Boston Marathon

There was another Marathon performance this weekend as ladies captain Laura Graves travelled across the Atlantic to take part in the Boston Marathon on Monday. The world’s oldest annual marathon and one of the world’s best known and prestigious racing events, Boston is only open to runners who meet tough qualifying standard meaning that very few UK based runners ever have the opportunity to participate there. Laura qualified with a very fast time for her age at last year’s London Marathon but sustained a troublesome injury early in the year and couldn’t run at all until 3 weeks before the race. Despite this lack of training she was determined to run and finished in an incredible time of 4:14:46 (th place) and everyone at the club looks forward to her returning to Ashby with her well earned medal.
